It feels surreal to share this news, after a tumultuous moving process. We have officially settled into our new home and farm property in the lovely Qualicum Beach, BC. (I highly recommend avoiding moving a whole farm operation its not for the faint of heart.)
A few reasons we moved were:
on going water shortages at our old farm,
limited growing space
Spencer's off farm job being too far.
It was not an easy decision to leave a community where I built this business and established customers and wholesale accounts. And rightfully scary to have to start over again, 4 years later.
However as a young business, we are constantly evolving and adapting.
There is a whole new market we are tapping into:
bouquet subscription and delivery
building more on farm experiences
a fully stocked farm store.
An important part of our business name is Gather and I really want to tap into more social gathering around the farm and flowers. There is so much to share and experience with others!
We are going to take a slow entry into this new 2026 growing season, I have much to build and learn of this new land and I hope to officially launch in 2027 taking more wedding clients and customers. I first need to learn my communities needs, I need to meet locals and make new friends.
An important lesson I've learned while farming is that nothing happens overnight; it's about slow growth. Things happen within seasons, and this season is budding and building up a new farm.
Excited to share the process with you!
love,
leana
